SAT I SAT II (Subject Test) SAT Exam Syllabus SAT I SAT tests student's academic skills which are developed over the years spent in school. The SAT I tests a student's skills in The Critical Reading The SAT I contains three critical reading sections: Reading comprehension of 25 min Sentence completions of 25 min and Paragraph-length critical reading 20 min Reading comprehension test consists of a lot of passages followed by questions to be answered using the information given in the passages. Sentence completion problems will require filling in the blanks with the appropriate word. Math Section The SAT contains three Math sections: (i) Algebra and functions of 25 min (ii) Geometry Statistics of 20 min (iii) Probability and Data analysis of 20 min There will be 54 questions in all. 44 of them are multiple-choice. For the remaining ten questions, one will have to find answers on your own. The Writing The SAT writing has three sections: (i) Essay section of 25 min, (ii) Multiple choice sections lasting 25 minutes and 10 minutes. The SAT writing sections will assess ability to improve writing samples, identify writing errors, and produce own clear, coherent essay. SAT II Subject Tests measure knowledge and skills in particular subject areas, and ability to apply that knowledge. The SAT Subject Tests are the only national admissions tests that give the opportunity to show hold of content in the specific subjects, such as English, history, mathematics, science, foreign languages and various other subjects. Subject Tests fall into 5 general subject areas: English History Mathematics Science Languages All Subject Tests are one-hour, multiple-choice tests. However, some of these tests have unique formats. SAT Exam Pattern SAT consists of three major sections: Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. Each section receives a score on the scale of 200 800. All scores are multiples of 10. Total scores are calculated by adding up scores of the three sections. Each major section is divided into three parts. There are 10 sub-sections, including an additional 25-minute experimental or "equating" section that may be in any of the three major sections. The experimental section is used to normalize questions for future administrations of the SAT and does not count toward the final score. SAT I Exam Duration The test is 3 hours and 45 minutes overall. That includes three critical reading sections, three math sections, three writing sections including an essay section, and an experimental section that may resemble any of the aforementioned sections. Every test lasts nearly 25 minutes. SAT II Exam Duration All Subject Tests are one-hour, multiple-choice tests. However, some of these tests have unique formats. |
