Re: Dept Of Education Abet

Adult basic education and training is the general conceptual foundation towards life long learning and development, comprising of knowledge, skills and attitudes required for social, economic and political participation and transformation applicable to a range of contexts.

About the Training Course :

Agriseta (Agricultural sector education training authority)
ABET is an extensive programme to assist employees in the agricultural environment to improve levels of literacy and numeracy, so that they may enter further learning programmes such as learnerships.

FASSET (Seta for Finance, Accounting, Management, Consulting and other financial services)
Within the Fasset sector education levels are generally high and only 3% of employees require ABET. However this still equates to a sizeable number of people who can benefit from ABET training

MERSETA (Manufacturing, Engineering and related services)
Many workers in the manufacturing, engineering and related services sector lack the required basic education to enable them to access further learning and development. Workplace basic education and training is thus imperative to increase the development of skills in the manufacturing, engineering and related services sectors

SASSETA (Seta for safety and security)
Following requests from stakeholders to increase the number of learners interested in joining the ABET programme, SASSETA Management would like to invite all its stakeholders for funding opportunity which is being offered to companies registered with the Safety and Security SETA
