pawan | Re: Delhi Police DANICS The DANICS refers to NCT of Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli Civil Service. It is a Group B civil service of the Government of India. Officers of the service are recruited directly through the Civil Services Exam and are responsible for diverse administrative functions of the National Capital, Delhi and the Union Territories. Further, it is responsible for over-seeing the crime and law & order situation in Union Territories. There are seven Union Territories, namely Andman & Nicobar Islands. Puducherry. Daman & Diu. Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Chandigarh Lakshadweep. NCT Delhi. Cadre Strength DANIPS officers form the backbone of the largest metropolitan police force in India, the Delhi Police. The cadre has a sanctioned strength of 434. Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is the cadre controlling authority for DANIPS. They are regulated by the Delhi Government on the recommendation of the respective Governor/Administrator/ Lieutenant Governor of that Union Territory. After attaining seniority, they get promotion into Senior Grades (JAG-I and JAG-II/SAG) and get inducted into the AGMUT cadre of the Indian Administrative Service. |
