Pathak | Re: Cusat tbi Cochin University’s efforts has received the gift after the government sanctioned Rs. one crore for its Technology Business Incubator (TBI) on the Thrikkakara campus. It will be utilised for proper networking and furnishing of the space, purchase of equipment and furniture, organising workshops and other recurring expenses. The main initiative of the program is to encourage entrepreneurship among students, Cochin University of Science and Technology is planning to set up a Technology Business Incubator on the campus. Cusat’s TBI is focusing mainly on communication technologies sector. The policy framework for the TBI was prepared based on the incubator models in select Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) and the Start-up Village here. Young entrepreneurs could incubate their pre-product ideas up to a period of three years. The university has allocated 5000 sq ft premises for the same. The centre hosts a series of training programmes and workshops for the budding student Student entrepreneurs who work through the Government recognized incubators will be given upto 20 percent attendance and upto 4 percent grace marks. Students currently studying with CUSAT or with any of its affiliated colleges are eligible to avail this scheme.
