The university was founded during the reign of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the Maharaja of Mysore. It opened on July 27, 1916. Hostel Facility in Mysore University The Directorate of Student Welfare is the supporting service of University of Mysore and takes care of the welfare of the students.
