It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology and as such is directly under the control of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. No, that NIT does not conduct and Lateral entry examination or nor does it entertains one. However, to get admission in NIT you can most probably appear for AIEEE examination, which however has now been replaced by JEE(Mains).
