To get a place in Central Government Departments one need to clear a Written Test and Interview conducted by UPSC or SSC. One can also get job opportunities in State Government. Many Public Sector Firms recruit Mechanical Engineers too. Some of the leading Government Companies are NTPC, SAIL, ONGC, VSSC, ISRO, BARC, etc.

These Public Sector Firms conduct Written Test or consider GATE score for selecting and short listing the candidates for interview.

There is a post of Executive Engineers in Indian Railways. For selection one has to write the tests conducted by RRB.

Eligibility for the Post of Executive Engineer in Government Organizations:

Applicants must be B.E/B. Tech degree holders. Though the branch of engineering differs from organization to organization according to requirement of the project. But normally engineering graduates with the following branches of engineering degrees are recruited for the position of Executive Engineers:

• Civil Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

Age Requirement:

As far as age requirement for the post of Executive Engineer in Government jobs is concerned, the age requirement of one organization differs from that of other.

However, it is minimum age requirement is 18 years and maximum age is 35 years.
