The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences AIIMS Andhra Pradesh will start functioning from the current academic session 2018-19 through a temporary campus located at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to start the academic activities of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Andhra Pradesh from the academic session 2018-19.

The construction of the permanent campus will take some more time following which the government has selected Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada as the temporary campus to start the academic session.

A block in Siddhartha Medical College can be used for academic activities until the permanent campus is set to function.

The initial intake of the institute will be of 50 seats and the selection of the candidates will be based on the score they secure in the all-India screening test - ie. AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2018
