Yeah you are eligible to apply for NET exam after M.Com. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2014 on behalf of the UGC.

NET Exam Eligibility-

Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination with at least 55% marks from recognised University by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.

The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons with disability (PWD) category candidates with at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination.

Final year student of Master degree can also apply.

Age limit

Junior Research Fellowship: Not more than 28 years as on December 1, 2014.
Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor.

NET Exam pattern

The examination is made up of three papers. All the three question papers consist of only objective type questions and will be held on June 29, 2014 (Sunday) in two separate sessions as under:

First session:

Paper I (100 marks): The exam will consist of 60 out of which 50 question have to be attempted. The exam will be held for one hour 15 minutes (09.30 am to 10.45 am)

The exam shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. The question paper is designed to test the reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

Each question will carry a weightage of two marks each, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any 50. In case the candidate attempts more than 50 questions, the first 50 questions attempted by the candidate will be evaluated.

Paper II (100 marks): The exam will consist of 50 questions of which all are compulsory. The exam will be held for one hour 15 minutes (10.45 am to 12.00 noon)

The question paper will consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.

Second session:

Paper III (150 marks): The exam will consist of 75 questions of which all are compulsory. The exam will be held for two hour 30 minutes (01.30 pm to 4.00 pm).

The question paper will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.

yes, definitely you are eligible for the UGC NET Examinations .

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research..


Eligibility criteria:


he candidate need to completed Master degree with any desire subject from a recognized University or equivalent qualification and the candidate must secure at least 55% aggregate marks in their examination and 50% relaxation is given to the reserved categories.

Candidates who are appeared or candidates who are appearing in the final year of Master degree examination and whose results still awaited or candidates whose appearing examinations have been delayed may also eligible to apply for NET examination.

Junior Research fellowship: - The candidates age not more than 28 years at the time of appearing for this examination and relaxation also given to the reserved categories.

Lectureship :- There is no upper age limits for lectureship.

Examination Pattern : There would be following two papers conducted

Paper I - Teaching and Research Aptitude - Reasoning Ability, Comprehension, Divergent Thinking, General Awareness and there would be 60 objective type questions

Paper II - This is the second test in this exam and it would be on the basis of that subject which would be selected by the candidate in examination and it has 50 objective type questions

Paper III - There would be 75 objective type question on the basis of your selected subject in the exam
