Electrical Engineering Technology
The Electrical Engineering Technology program could be a great fit for you, especially if you have strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

This program provides you with the knowledge and skills to design, commission, test, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems and support systems.

You will learn theoretical principles through a practical, hands-on approach.

All Electronics and Electrical Engineering Technology programs have a common first two terms, allowing for seamless transfer across programs by the third term of year one.

Year two provides more in-depth electrical training with specialization pathways that may include:

POWER DISTRIBUTION

(Saint John campus)
Focusing on, but not limited to, the distribution of power in commercial and industrial settings, from the utility service entrance to the final energy utilization devices.

ALTERNATE ENERGY
(Moncton campus)
Focusing on, but not limited to, the production and control of sustainable energy using sources such as wind, solar and geothermal.

Please note: It is highly recommended that you have physics as one of your two mandatory sciences for admission.



Duration:
The requirements for this diploma program may be achieved within two academic years of full-time study.

Electrical: Construction
If working as part of a construction team and constantly seeing progress sounds appealing, the Electrical program is for you.

We offer a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on training that prepares you for both entry-level positions and future career advancement in the field of home construction and renovation.

You learn your trade under actual shop conditions, where you can develop an understanding of the installation and operation of electrical systems and components.

Through practical projects you develop skills in fundamental wiring practices, pipe threading and bending, cable tray installation, service entrances and basic troubleshooting techniques, to name just a few, learning how to work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and the National Building Code.

An industry practicum is included to offer you exposure to the work environment prior to graduation.

Duration:
The requirements for this certificate program may be achieved within one academic year of full-time study.

Electrical: Industrial
As an Industrial Electrician, you install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls.

As an Industrial Electrician, you must be willing to work in a hands-on environment, as well as use software for troubleshooting and calibration of equipment.

Considerable time will be spent programming and troubleshooting equipment using computer software.

This is a 40 week pre-employment program and you will be able to challenge the Apprenticeship Block 1 Examination at the end of the academic year.

Duration:
The requirements for this certificate program may be achieved within one academic year of full-time study.
