Navjyoti India Foundation is a not-for-profit society, registered on January 5, 1988 by then 16 serving police officers of Delhi Police and conceived by Dr Kiran Bedi, first woman IPS, and her team of North district police, with the main objective of crime prevention through welfare policing. About the Navjyoti Bal (Child)/Yuva (Youth) Guruku Gurukul is a result of the burning desire within the organization to hasten the process of reaching out to education to those children who are untouched by the benefits of 3S Model. This movement was initiated on November 16, 2013. Mission Statement : Nurturing a community of creative children Operational Area The project is on-going in Bawana resettlement colony located in North-west part of Delhi, 20 villages and 31 colonies located in and around Karala, in North-west part of Delhi and in 10 villages of Sohna block, Haryana. Reach Program This program is housed in urban and rural areas whose approx. child population is about 100000. Therefore, the reach of the students of Gurukul is incremental by the day since inception of the program.
