Policy Aptitude Test (conducted in Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai): 26 April 2020 (Sunday)
Entrance Exam Results Published: 9 May 2020 (Saturday)
Personal Interviews in Bangalore: 29-30 May 2020 (Friday-Saturday)
Proposal presentation and personal interviews for Integrated Ph.D., Programme in Public Policy: 31 May 2020 (Sunday)
Announcement of List of Admitted Candidates: 4 June 2020 (Thursday)


Admission Process

Prerequisites


One with a graduate degree from any discipline

All India Competitive Examination and Interviews

Policy Aptitude Test (PAT)

(Centres: Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai).

Intake and Reservation Maximum of 50 candidates are admitted for the programme.

Reservation for appropriate categories is as follows:
a) Scheduled Caste: 15%
b) Scheduled Tribe: 7.5%
c) Specially abled persons (SAP) : 3%

Personal Interviews (based on PAT score)


Curriculum

Master’s Programme in Public Policy at NLSIU is a two year residential programme organised through six trimesters. It is a good blend of skill-based courses and theoretical courses.

Apart from the courses focused on the theory and practice of public policy, there are courses on economics, law, sociology, finance, Indian society and political economy.

Classrooms follow innovative pedagogy encouraging one to share the perspectives on contemporary policy issues, and learning revolves around discussions in the light of theories and practices.


Core Courses: 42 credits.
Elective courses: 16 credits.
Field Work: 4 Credits (exposure to communities)
Client-led Projects: 4 Credits (exposure to public/private/non-profit organizations)
Dissertation Seminars (4 credits)
Dissertation: 12 credits
