NIT Delhi is one of the 10 new NITs. During the 11th Five Year Plan it was setup by Govt. of India. It has been declared as an Institute of National Importance by an act of Parliament of India.

Commencement of classes January 08, 2013
Mid-Term Examination February 25- March 02, 2013
Last Teaching day of Semester April 25, 2013
End-Term Examinations April 29-May 04, 2013
Submission of Grades May 11, 2013
Summer Vacation for Students May 11, 2013 onward
Institute Re-opens for Registration for the Academic year 2013-14 3rd -4th week of July 2013
