Re: National Entrance Screening Test (Nest)

The National Entrance Screening Test is a compulsory test for admission to the 5- year Integrated MSc programme in basic sciences - Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics - at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai

Eligibility Criteria


Candidates in General and OBC category should be born on or after August 01, 1997. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Physically Disabled (PD) candidates.

Class XII qualifying examination should be passed in either 2015 or 2016. Candidates appearing in 2017 are also eligible. (Where only Letter Grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required.


Examination Pattern

The question paper will consist of 5 (five) sections of objective (MCQ) type questions. Section 1


There will be no negative marking in general section. Sections 2 to 5 will contain subject specific questions from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

Application Fees :

Male (General and OBC categories) - Rs 700/-
Male (SC and ST categories) - Rs 350/-
Female (All categories) - Rs 350/-
Persons with Physical Disability (All categories) - Rs 350/-
