Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is the first among the 66 State Agricultural Universities in India setting up a Nano Agriculture framework in order to promote agricultural productivity without associated environmental risks.

The Department of Nano Science & Technology (NST) in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, India fostering multi-faceted research collaborations with national and international organizations. It intends to provide advance education and research opportunities to young graduates for taking the inventions from the laboratory to the farm gate.

Fabrication of nano-agricultural inputs for groundnut productivity and environmental safety (DST Nano Mission Project Rs. 64.26 Lakhs; 2011-2015; PI : Dr. K.S. Subramanian)

Green synthesis of bioactive silver nano particles using plant extracts and their antinemic properties (DST Nano Mission Project Rs. 20.0 Lakhs ; 2013- 2016; PI: Dr. B. Anitha)

Nanotechnological strategies for seed invigouration in rainfed groundnut (DST Nano Mission Project Rs. 25.0 Lakhs ; 2013- 2016; PI: Dr. N.Natarajan)

Identification of effective insecticidal crystal proteins from Bacillus thuringiensis (Berliner) against spotted pod borer, Maruca testulalis (Geyer) in Dolichos bean (Avarai) (UGC funded Project Rs. 6.94 Lakhs ; 2012- 2015; PI: Dr. M. Kannan)

Development of Sulphur Nano fertilizer formulation for sunflower to enhance productivity, use efficiency and environmental safety (DST funded Project Rs. 20.0 Lakhs ; 2015- 2018; PI: Dr. R. Rajeswari)
