The University of Mysore offers Doctorate of Philosophy in a wide range of subjects. It has various departments under the University of Mysore as well as other Research and Academic institutions in Mysore, Bangalore and other places provide research scholars, facilities to do research as part of the programme.

Selection of candidates for admission to Mysore University Ph.D. is based on entrance test and interview conducted by the university.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have secured at least 55% of aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/Cat-1/A candidate who completed Masters Degree prior to 19th Sep 1991) or equivalent grade under grading system, in their Masters Degree or equivalent examination from the recognized Universities/Institutions

The candidates have to satisfy other eligibility conditions stipulated in the regulations.
