The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was a municipal corporation that governs 8 of the 11 Districts of Delhi, in the state of Delhi, India.
It was one of three municipal corporations in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

MCD came into existence on the 7th of April, 1958.

The entire MCD area is divided into 12 zones spread across three smaller municipal corporations:

North Delhi Municipal Corporation

Karol Bagh
Sadar Paharganj
Civil Lines
Narela
Rohini

South Delhi Municipal Corporation

Central Delhi
South Delhi
West Delhi
Najafgarh

East Delhi Municipal Corporation

Shahdara South
Shahdara North

About Municipal Corporation of Delhi Election:

The BJP has retained control over Delhi's municipality - it has won all the three new civic bodies carved out of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

The BJP has won 138 of the 272 wards.

In North Delhi, which is a BJP bastion, the party has posted a big win taking 59 of the 104 wards. The Congress managed just 29 seats, albeit a gain of 6 from 2007.

In East Delhi, the Congress gained 4 wards, taking its tally to 19, a distant second to the BJP's 35 in the 64-ward corporation.
