Can you tell me about the objectives of Academy for Administrative Careers of University of Mumbai which conducts training for candidates taking UPSC Civil Services examination?

The Academy for Administrative Careers of University of Mumbai was established in 2003 for providing academic facilities to the students of aspiring for administrative careers.

It aims at creating awareness and interest among the students about civil services and ensures that an increasing number of youth from Maharashtra gets represented in the services as the academy has been conducting coaching/training programmes for the civil services examination for all students.

Objective:

To create consciousness among the youth of Maharashtra about aims and objective, procedures and relative advantage of various competitive examination particularly civil services examination.

To teach them the culture of serving the community and the nation

To plan and conduct coaching and training programmes for successful participation in the competitive examination

To collection support for conduct of coaching form eminent administrator, academician and professional expert from management, training and research institutions

Academy for Administrative Courses:

Conducting Training for candidates taking UPSC and MPSC Civil Services examination.
Conducting remedial courses for under privileged group of society.
Conducting short term coaching courses for candidates taking NET/SET examination
Conducting tailor made training programmes for specific target groups.

Guidance Programme:
Guidance sessions in the form of lectures, discussions and seminars are organized. However, more weightage is given for of the interaction of the candidates with the faculty.
Periodic tests are conducted to assess the performance of the candidates. Critical appraisal is made on the basis of tests to suggest improvements in the preparation.
Guest lectures by resource persons of fame in the field of administration, academics, industry and media etc. are organized.
