The MD/MBA joint degree option is offered through the Medical Scholars Program (MSP) and is jointly sponsored by the MBA Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana. About the MD/MBA Program All medical and MBA training takes place on the Urbana-Champaign campus. Students enrolled in this innovative program will earn an MBA degree and the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. MD/MBA students plan to pursue a variety of careers, especially in academic medicine, public policy, governmental regulation, and/or health care administration. Eligibility The MD/MBA program is open to students who have completed an accredited bachelor‘s degree and who meet the admission criteria of the MBA Program, the College of Medicine, and the Medical Scholars Program. This joint degree program is available only to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents. Sequencing of Studies Students enrolled in the MD/MBA program take an average of five to six years, including summers, to complete both degrees. The first year of the program is spent meeting the requirements of the MBA program. Admission to the MD/MBA Joint Degree Program MBA Program: The MBA Program requires that applicants to the MD/MBA curriculum submit the MBA application MBA applicants are required to pay one application fee for the joint program. MD/MBA applicants are eligible to obtain an MBA application fee waiver. Your GMAT score must be sent by Pearson Vue to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign MBA program at institution code VKRTK08. If you take the GMAT more than once, the Admissions Committee considers only the highest score.
