MS Courses in IIT Kharagpur

Hello sir my friend wants to do MS Course from IIT Kharagpur so please provide me detailed information about this program.

IIT Kharagpur offers MS (Or M.Tech with Project Assistant-ship). MS at IIT Madras is very famous and is at par with any other technical master’s courses in India.

Eligibility:

You Don't Need GATE Score To Apply For MS
But it would definitely count, if you have good GATE score.

Basically, all you need is good command over CS subjects and good communication skills

2: When Vacancies are open:

Vacancies are there throughout the year.

Whenever any projects comes to a professor (Either from Government or from top research companies like HP, Microsoft, Apple or Xerox), they will put requirement on IIT KGP website. You can find it on :

3: Selection Process:

You need to send the application along with your bio- data and testimonials to SRIC,IITKgp;

After receiving confirmation and the date of interview you need to visit IIT KGP for test and/or interview.

You can stay there at campus guest house or hostels and appear for test and/or interview

a: Test syllabus: GATE syllabus + C programs.

There are generally two parts Maths and CS.

You may expect objective or subjective paper.

b: Interview:

If you get through test you will be interviewed by panel of 6-7 IIT professors.

They may ask you about your favorite subjects or they may ask anything (Literally anything).

Be careful about your favourite subjects because it represents the area in which you may proceed for MS.

4: Stipend: around 18K.

5: Duration and campus:

Duration varies from project to project.

Most of the projects will have time line of 2.5 years but few may extend up to 3.5 years at max.

Campus recruitment for M.Tech and MS is combined moreover average package for MS students is higher than that of MTech.

MS candidates prefer to work in research organisations after their degree.
