Q-1 Read the following passage carefully and answers the questions given
below it:-
life is like a battlefield because in life we have to struggle against many
enemies like temptation, greed dishonesty and falsehood. To fight these
enemies, we have to be brave. Bravery and courage help a man to do all kinds
of noble deeds. A person who has firm faith in God, finds it easy to be brave,
courageous and firm faith in God comes out of loving him. Love for God can
never remain in the heart of a person whose thoughts and deeds are not good
and pure. A brave man does not only fights evils, and vice, he is prepared to
face the troubles and sorrows of life

Q-2 Read the following passage carefully and answers the questions given
below it:-
Florence Nightingale was the first woman who was awarded the order of the
merit for her pioneering work in nursing profession. She was born on May 12Th,
1820 in a rich family in Florence, Italy. It was unthinkable for a woman of a
respectable family to go out for job in those days. She offered herself to provide the
healing touch to the wounded soldiers in the Grimean war. She served them so well
and with great love that she became a legend in the nursing profession. We
remember her as an embodiment of love, Sacrifice and dedication for man kind. At
the over-crowded Scutari Hospital she was often found serving the wounded
soldiers even in the midst of night by holding a lamp in her hand. Its result is that
succeeding generation knows her as 'the Lady with a lamp'.
