here I am giving you information about required Physical standards for deck cadet post in Merchant navy below ..

Medical Standards:
Candidates should be physically and Mentally strong, fit for sea-services under standard norms
There should be no skin disease unless temporary or trival.
there should be no impediment of speech (e.g. stammering)
There should be no enlarged glands, tubercular or due to other diseases in the neck or other parts of the body. Thyroid gland should be normal.

Eye-Sight :
6/6 without glasses,
No color Blindness.

Deck cadet –
You have to pass a diploma in Nautical Science.
The minimum education qualification is 10+2 with P.C.M (Physics, Chemistry and Math) as compulsory subjects and you must scored minimum 50% in aggregate and 50% in English at 12th level.
Or
you have pass a bachelors’ degree in Nautical Science can become Deck Cadets in Merchant Navy.

Age Limit : 16-25 Years

Courses to Join Merchant Navy after 12th are :
3-Year B.Sc. Degree in Nautical Science
2-year Marine Engineering course

3 month Pre-Sea Course in Deck rating.
3 month Pre-Sea Course in Engine rating.
4 month Pre-Sea Course in Saloon rating.
STCW Course

1 year Pre-Sea Diploma in Nautical Science
HND (Higher National Diploma) Nautical Science
HND (Higher National Diploma) Marine Engineering
B.E Marine Engineering (4-Year Degree course in Marine Engineering)
B.S. in Nautical Technology (3 years training at Institute + 1 year at Sea)
