On August 21, 1953, the Colorado Association for Mental Health (CAMH) was incorporated under the leadership of President Jane Woodhouse.

Since 1986, Mental Health America of Colorado's Pro Bono Counseling & Referral Program has provided referrals to free counseling services with licensed mental health professionals.

Short term counseling is available for:

Depression
Anxiety
Grief and Loss
Issues related to unemployment

The Program works in two ways:

Placing mental health volunteers at partner nonprofit agencies to provide free mental health services to clients and staff.

Screening and referring individuals and families to free or low-cost mental health services provided by Program volunteers in their own practices
