Re: Medical Colleges under KIIT University

Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) a constituent of KIIT University has two wings – The Hospital and The Medical College (for MBBS & M.D. courses).

Its courses are approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and the Medical Council of India (MCI). It has 21 academic departments, providing the study, treatment and prevention of human diseases and maternity care.

Admission into M.B.B.S. Programme


Eligibility
10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for general category candidates and 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for SC/ST Candidates.

Age: Lower age should be 17 years & upper age limit should be maximum 25 years. The upper age limit is relaxed by five year for SC/ST candidates.

Admission Procedure
Admission into the M.B.B.S. Programme is through NEET.

Admission into M.D. Programme

Eligibility
(a) One must be an Indian National.

(b) One, who holds M.B.B.S. degree from a recognized medical college of India or a foreign medical degree included in the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible to take this exam.

(c) One who, after passing the final qualifying exam, is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotating internship/practical training and is likely to complete can take up this exam, but is not be eligible for admission unless has completed the compulsory rotating internship and obtained full registration.

(d) The cut off dates for the recognition of the Medical Colleges from where one has passed the MBBS Degree Course and completed compulsory rotatory Internship.

(e) Registration with M.C.I./State Medical Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of counselling.

Admission Procedure
KIMS offers MD course at the Postgraduate level. Admission is purely on merit on the basis of KIITEE, an all India entrance test conducted by KIIT University.
