Founded in 1926, the Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College (GSMC) and the King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital are amongst the foremost teaching and medical care providing institutions in India.

The College provides training to about 2000 students in undergraduate, postgraduate and super-speciality medical courses; in undergraduate and postgraduate physical and occupational therapy; Masters and PhD courses in various allied specialties.


MBBS Program

One needs to clear National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission in MBBS Program in Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College (GSMC) and the King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital.


For NEET-UG, there are questions asked from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology. There are 45 questions from each of the sections. A correct response gives the candidate 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. No marks are deducted if the candidate has not attempted a question. The total time duration is of 3 hours.


Admission Procedure

All admissions to MBBS Program in Maharashtra are administered centrally by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER). The Common Entrance test is called NEET UG.

In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ ST or other backward classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together in qualifying examination is 40%.

One taking plus two examinations can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.
