According to state Health Minister Nitin Patel, Gujarat will have 170 new medical education seats in medical colleges in Vadodara and Surat.

100 MBBS seats will be added to government medical college in Surat, while 70 seats to government medical college, Vadodara.

Increase of 175 Seats in 4 Existing MBBS Institutions of Gujarat are

MCI has permitted the state of Gujarat to set up three New MBBS Colleges. Thus increasing the MCI permitted seats by 450

450 Seats of New MBBS Institutions of Gujarat are as under:

The total number of MCI permitted seats for MBBS admission increased to 625.

On 6th Nov 2014, I have read news that Baroda & Surat medical college will get 170 more sheet with effect from the year 2015_16.
Whether permission in this regard granted by MCI or not ?
I have heard that both the colleges have not applied for the same to respective authorities till the month of July 2015.
Any body can help me to know whether it will be effective from year 2015_16 or 2016_17.
