Re: MBA toiec

The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is an internationally recognized language test by the Educational Testing Service. It serves as a measure of the ability of people who do not speak English as their native language to use it in the everyday communication of their professional environment.

No, it is not compulsory to clear Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) for admission in MBA (Master in Business Administration) Program in USA (United States of America).

TOEIC

The TOEFL, in contrast to the TOEIC, is intended for academic use, language proficiency in university admissions, and is widely used in North America.

The TOEIC includes questions for the understanding of the hearing and determination of the reading comprehension, since 2007 there is also a test part for the written expression and an oral part. The result of the test is a number of points (990 points maximum), which is proof of the language level.

Many American universities require a minimum TOEIC score of 765 points as a prerequisite. It is estimated that around five million people worldwide pass it each year. Especially in Asia (Japan, South Korea) it is more popular than the TOEFL or the Cambridge Certificates

There are different forms of the exam: The TOEIC Listening & Reading Test consists of two equally graded tests of comprehension assessment activities totalling a possible 990 score; There are also the TOEIC Speaking and Writing Tests.

The TOEIC speaking test is composed of tasks that assess pronunciation, intonation and stress, vocabulary, grammar, cohesion, relevance of content and completeness of content.

The TOEIC Writing test is composed of tasks that assess grammar, relevance of sentences to the pictures, quality and variety of sentences, vocabulary, organization, and whether the opinion is supported with reason and/or examples. Both assessments use a score scale of 0 - 200.

In addition to the public testing program, there are also versions that individual businesses and educational institutions can purchase for internal use. These "Institutional" TOEIC tests can be administered at the organization's own choice of location and time to its employees or students.
