Re: MBA MSW Dual Degree Programs
The MSW dual-degree options provides exciting interdisciplinary opportunities for social work students in the full-time program. Students labour closely with their academic advisors in both degree programs to settle on their individual course of study. Within most dual-degrees, students may decide either the clinical or macro concentration. In the 21st Century, starting, supervision or leading an organization demands business knowledge, human understanding and creativity. Neither expertise set suffices on its own, whether the association is non-profit, for-profit, and entrepreneurial or grass roots. As a joint attempt of the Penn School of Social Policy & Practice and Wharton, the dual MSW/MBA program emphasizes these manifold multi-dimensional skills and competencies Applicants for this program must submit an application both to the School of Social Policy & Practice and the Wharton School. A break up application and application fee is required for each School. Application consultation for the Wharton School should be directed to: Director of Admissions, Wharton School 420 Jon M. Huntsman Hall 3730 Walnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19104-6340. MSW/MBA GENERAL PROGRAM OF STUDY Each student will meet up with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to create an individually designed course schedule. Note: Students applying to dual degree programs should make separate applications to both schools. The program is planned for a limited number of mature students with some supervisory and/or administrative experience. The curriculum include three years and the two intervening summers, and also the foundation and elective courses for the MSW, and the required basic courses for the MBA. Field internships are precise in management and policy research and development in such sites as social welfare organizations, hospitals, philanthropic foundations, and government. Upon triumphant completion of the program, students receive the dual degrees of Master of Social Work (MSW) and Master of Business Administration Contact Details: School of Social Policy & Practice 3701 Locust Walk Philadelphia PA, 19104-6214 215-898-5512 (ph) 215-573-2099 (fax) |
