Can anyone tell me what is the Eligibility requires for funding in Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF) of Mars Discovery District?

The MaRS IAF was established in 2007 with the goal to help build and strengthen Ontario-based businesses

MaRS is working with an extensive network of partners to help entrepreneurs launch and grow the innovative companies that are building our future.

IAF stands for Investment Accelerator Fund

The IAF invests up to $500,000 in early-stage companies that have the potential to be global leaders in their field and give sustainable economic benefits to Ontario.

The Youth IAF invests up to $250,000 in innovative technology-based companies where the great mass of founders are under the age of 30.

Eligibility for applying IAF funding:

Any early-stage venture can apply for IAF funding

In order to be eligible, a company must have the following criteria:
A total addressable market of at least $100 million, and a viable plan to penetrate it
Defensible intellectual property and/or a sustainable competitive advantage
The management and technical skills needed to successfully commercialize business
The company is incorporated or under the Business Corporations Act.
The company is formed to commercially exploit intellectual property to which it has the unencumbered legal right to use.
The company pays 50 percent or more of its wages, salaries and fees to employees in Ontario.
The company has total revenues of less than $500,000 from the time of its incorporation.
The value of the net tangible assets of the company does not exceed $500,000.

Here I am providing you a procedure for Online Application of IAF Funding.

Firstly go to the official website of Mars Discover District (DD). The page will look like as:



You have to click on “What we offer” and then “FUNDING”. New page will open which will look like as:



You have to click on Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF) and a new page will open. There will be written “IAF website” in blue colour. You have to click on it.

A new page will open which looks like as:



There are some tabs at the upper side. Kindly click on “APPLY”. Then you have to click on “Online Application”.

Then IAF Application Form will open.



Fill all the details and then you have to click on Submit button.
