M Phil in VELS University

Can you tell me in detail about the admission requirement and procedure for admission in M Phil course offered in VELS University as my sister wishes to take admission in it so want to know the details?

The programmes offered at VELS University are approved by AICTE and other statutory bodies such as Pharmacy Council of India, Indian Association of Physiotherapists and Director General of Shipping.

Eligibility for Admission:

One with the Master's Degree in the subject concerned or a degree accepted as equivalent by VELS University with a minimum of [ 55% / 50%- as per UGC norms and 60% / 55% - as per AICTE norms for professional courses] marks are eligible to apply.

For Part-time:
Teacher candidates working in affiliated Colleges or in Departments of the University/ recognized Research Institutions or in Polytechnic approved by the Department of Technical Education or in approved Higher Secondary Schools and High Schools under State Board or Central Board or Education Instructors of Indian Armed Force who possess the qualifications as prescribed above are eligible to register for the Degree of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and undergo the prescribed course of study in this University.

The number of seats for the course is decided well in advance based on the availability of supervisors.

It is notified in the University Website before the beginning of every academic year.

Procedure for Admission:
A Common Entrance Test is conducted in the discipline of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management and in any other disciplines followed by an interview with regard to the research interest/ area by the concerned School /Department.

The concerned Heads of the Schools / Departments arrange to calculate the entrance test papers of the individuals and the marks secured is chart along with the marks secured in the interview and the eligible candidates are allotted to the supervisors based on the number of vacancies available, field of specialization and the research interest of the candidate as indicated during the interview.

The National / State level reservation policies shall be followed in respect of selection of candidates for the Doctoral Programme.
