The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is a university in the city of Vadodara, in Gujarat state, India. Originally known as the Baroda College of Science, it became a university in 1949 after the independence of the country. Eligibility required for doing M.Phil in the department of English from this University is -Minimum 50% for general category students (45% for reserved Category) at M.A. (English) from a recognized Indian or Foreign University. -Minimum 50% at written and oral entrance test administered by the Department. Admission Procedure for this: Submission of completed application form Clearing of entrance test Submission of admission form Payment of fees Program Fee: Total Fees Rs 30,000-plus examination fees Entrance test paper pattern of this: There will be an entrance test of 100 marks which will comprise a written and personal interview The written test will be of 75 marks and the personal interview of 25 marks. The written test will be of two hours. The personal interview will focus on the candidate’s orientation towards research as well as linguistic and literary competence.
