Re: Are M.Com candidates eligible for NET

University Grants Commission conducts NET exam for appointment of lecturers and junior research fellows in prestigious institutions. The minimum eligibility to appear for this exam is that applicant must have master’s degree and as you have done M.Com, you are eligible for this exam. For further details about eligibility refer to the detailed eligibility criteria given below:

Eligibility criteria:

1. Applicant must have minimum 55% marks in their Master’s degree from a UGC recognised university(For SC, ST, OBC and Persons with disabilities minimum percentage required is 50%).
2. Applicant’s who are in final year of their master’s degree are also eligible to apply, but till their final results are not obtained their selection will be provisional and can be cancelled if they don’t meet minimum eligibility criteria.
3. P.hD. degree holders who have done their Master’s by 19 September 1991, will be given a relaxation of 5% marks.
4. Applicant’s having foreign degrees have to ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate with Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, on their own.
5. Reserved categories as mentioned in 1st point who have been given relaxation have to submit their caste certificate with application form.

Last date to apply online: 5 May 2014

Last date to pay fee online/through SBI challan: 7 May 2014

Last date to take printout of Application form, fee receipt, Attendance slip and Admit Card: 10 May 2014

Last date for receipt of Application form, fee receipt and Attendance slip: 15 May 2014


Exam fee and mode of payment:

General candidate- Rs. 450/-
OBC candidate- Rs. 225/-
SC/ST candidate- Rs. 110/-

How to pay:

1. Online:

If you choose online mode then choose the category- NET Banking or Credit/Debit Cards.
After this choose the relevant Bank.
Pay the fee after entering your credentials.
Print the receipt.


2. Offline:

Bank challan will be generated of the fee amount, with the bank charges of Rs. 40/-

1 day after the generation of challan submit it with the fees in any of the branch of SBI.
2 days after submitting the fee, logon to your account and print the receipt.
