Re: LSE Master in Finance

The M Sc Finance (Full-Time) programme offered by the Department of Finance of LSE or London School of Economics and Political Science is designed for students whose academic background is not necessarily in finance. However, it is meant for students with good undergraduate degrees and good quantitative skills.

M Sc Finance (Full-time) Programme Structure

Applicants from all over the world, and with a range of academic backgrounds, choose to study the M Sc Finance (Full-Time) programme in the Department.

The foundation of the M Sc Finance (Full-time) Programme is built in the first term with study of two core courses: Corporate Finance and Asset Markets.

Corporate Finance begins with the firm's investment decision and the cost of capital.

Asset Markets takes one from fundamental concepts to up-to-date applications in fixed-income, equity and derivatives markets.

In the second term, one deepen the knowledge by taking 4 optional half-unit courses, on topics such as financial systems, risk management, portfolio management methods, advanced derivatives and structured financial products, fixed income, advanced corporate finance, and applied financial valuation.

One is required to write a 6,000 word dissertation in the place of an exam in one of the four optional courses.
