Duration

2 yrs. (4 Semesters)


Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam)
One must have pass with 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor degree (any discipline) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST.
(5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants)
(10% relaxation to outstanding Sports Persons (i.e. A/A+ category as per Sports Scholarship), Subject to verification from Selection committee* of the University)

Note:-If one falls in both categories, then only one relaxation in eligibility will be given.


Admission Criteria
Merit in qualifying examination, subject to eligibility criteria.

Course aims to introduce the literature based on theoretical and empirical research on developmental models under various demographic and economic settings. Course ably provide a ventage view to compare various developmental model existing across the economies.

ECONOMICS OF EDUCATION AND HEALTH
Introduction to microeconomic framework to analyze individual choice, government intervention, inequity and discrimination in education and health sectors

SOUTH ASIAN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
South Asia has emerged as a powerhouse of economic development and broke many assumptions of textbook economics. Course bring students attention towards the miracle of south asian countries as far as economic growth is concerned and will also ponder upon the historical events which made this miracle possible.

TRADE, CAPITAL FLOWS AND DEVELOPMENT
The aim of the course is to introduce students to various aspects of modern theories of trade and development, with a focus on a formal theoretical and empirical analysis.


FINANCIAL ECONOMETRICS
ADVANCED ECONOMETRICS
This course will hone the skill of using time series and panel data for making useful research contribution. Course will include various facet involved in interpreting financial data.

GAME THEORY AND INFORMATION ECONOMICS
Game theory is the systematic study of strategic interactions that are present everywhere, not only in economics but in politics, sociology, law, computer science, and sports. The main goal of the course is to introduce students to the basic concepts and tools of game theory and to apply these tools to real-life situations. .


INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS
INTERNATIONAL CAPITAL MARKET AND FINANCE
This introductory program offers a comprehensive survey of capital markets. Money and banking, the role of central banks and the evolving regulatory landscape are reviewed. .

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION AND REGIONAL COOPERATION IN TRADE
Course designed to introduce the element of bilateral trading agreements in the light of World Trade Organization and role of international organization in promoting and facilitating trade.

MULTINATIONAL TRADE PROCEDURES AND LAWS
This course examines the basics of exporting and importing management, an introduction to the intricacies of how export and export deals function, procedures and documentation, identifying an international trade opportunity and bring the opportunity to fruition.

TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFERS
An advance course framed to introduce the role of technology and transnational cooperations in world trade. Course will guide students to understand the role of technology and transnational cooperation in economic growth and employment creation.
