Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur was founded in 1959, it is a public research college and it was declared to be Institute of National Importance by Government of India under IIT Act.

Law and Economics course is being organized keeping in view the participation of Science and Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management, Public Servants, Industries, Entrepreneurs, Consultants, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Researchers, Academicians, Students and other Stakeholders.

The subject themes of the course are as follows:
Introduction to Law and Economics;
Economic Analysis of Property Law;
Economic Analysis of Contract Law;
Economic Analysis of Torts Law; and
Analysis of Specific Problems of Corporation Law;
Economic Analysis of Competition Law.

Fees
There is no fee for the participants those who are coming from AICTE approved institutions.

For the participants from Industries, professional, Non-Governmental Organizations, and academicians need to pay fee Rs. 3000, Rs. 2000, Rs. 1500, and Rs. 1000, respectively.

Payment should be made through a Bank Demand Draft in favour of “Continuing Education Programme, IIT Kanpur”.
