TNEA Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission the entrance exam for admission in engineering course in Anna University. TNEA cutoffs are the minimum marks as ascertained by the Anna University needed to qualify for admissions to the various engineering courses. It is determined by the number of applicants, intake per college/university and the previous year's cutoff. The TNEA cutoffs for Engineering are calculated as follows: Total cut off marks /Total Marks (200 marks) Subjects Total Marks Cut-off Calculation Cut-Off Marks Mathematics 200 200/2 100 Physics 200 200/4 50 Chemistry 200 200/4 50 Engineering Cut-Off 200/200 TNEA Cutoffs for CBSE Board students is equated with the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu using the Normalization method as follows: Calculation of Normalization Marks = 100 x actual marks / highest marks of the same board For example, a student scores 90 Marks in Math (CBSE) and the CBSE Toppers Marks in Maths are 95 Normalization Marks = 100*90/95=94.73648 If the highest marks of a student (Tamil Nadu State Board) in a particular subject are 100 and the highest marks in the same subject of a student belonging to another board is 90 the highest marks for both the boards will be considered to be equal at 100.
