The Department of English of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur was established in 1981 as an aided department and happens to be one of the earliest teaching departments to develop the residential wing of the University.


The Department runs Program for M.A. English Language & Literature Two - Year Course under annual Scheme. It is equipped with a Language Lab that helps the students grow employable on an interdisciplinary canvas of training in Speech Skills and Personality Development.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

For General and OBC Candidates aggregate 50% and for SC/ST Candidates aggregate 45% at graduation level.

For Faculty change 55% for general and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST Candidates
