Psychology is the study of human growth and development, of the neural organization of the brain and learning, of cognition (thought) and affect (emotion), of social-cultural influences on thought, behavior, and identity, and of abnormal syndromes, drug treatments, and psychotherapy.

Requirements for a Psychology Major
9 units. Only 1 unit of a psychology SIP may count toward the 9.
Necessary courses: PSYC 101 (General Psychology), PSYC 390 (Experimental Methods) and two 400 level courses.

Required equivalent
MATH 105 (Quantitative Reasoning & Statistical Analysis), MATH 260 (Applied Statistics), or SOAN 212 (Quantitative Analysis & Statistical Reasoning) at C- or better. MATH 260 is strongly suggested for those considering graduate study.
