From 24 to 26 September, 2012 JSS Public School, JSSTIS’ Campus in Mysore, hosted the 11 CBSE Roller Speed Skating Tournament at Rao’s Skating Rink, Unnatinagar, in Mysore for the cluster of CBSE schools in the South Zone.

It was a mega event in which around nearly 750 students from 250 schools in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka participated.

Shri Pushkar Vohra, Dy. Director (Sports) who was the chief guest Inaugurated the Ceremony at 9 a.m. in Rao’s Skating Rink and Shri P. S. Vastrad, the DC of Mysore District declared the Meet open.

The students were categorized under different speed skating events and respective age groups. They took part in Quad and Inline races at Rao’s Skating Rink and Road races at R.T. Nagar, Mysore.

The curtain of the Event was finally brought down with the closing ceremony on 26 September at 4.30 p.m. at the Rink. The chief guest on the occasion was Dr. M.R. Ravi, Commissioner, Mysore City Corporation.

On the whole, the competition was a great accomplishment which brought out new talents and records in Roller Skating.

The whole Event was organized by the Pontiff of Suttur Mutt and Patron saint of the school, Shri Shri Deshikendra Mahaswamigalawaru, The JSS School Management comprising the Organizing Committee members and, Shri K. Srikantha Rao, Technical Co-ordinator and Chairman, KRSA, Shri Shiva Kumar, Vice President, KRSA, Shri Bharath Kumar, General Secretary for the benefit of the student community of the School.
