After M.A in Sociology you can apply for Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) and join Indian Civil Services. You can find jobs in the field of criminology, health, family and child development like Child Development Project Officer, District Probation Officer, Liaison Officer, Rehabilitation Counselor etc. If you are interested in research field, then you can pursue your career as Research Officer or Junior Research Fellow in Indian Statistical Institute, National Institute of Urban Affairs and Centre for Advanced Research and Development. You can also purse your career in teaching after qualifying the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET). Those who qualify in NET or SET can join any college or University in India as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Indian Civil Services like IAS, IPS and IFS are also good options for you. You can also apply for the exams conducted by State Public Service Commission and get into various administrative posts like Assistant Commissioner Block Development Officer Tehsil Welfare Officer Sub-divisional Magistrate District Public Relation Officer After M.A in Sociology you can join Centre for Gerontological Studies and pursue your career as Gerontologists. You can also work in District Child Protection Society as Probation Officer.
