The JNU Centre of Social Medicine and Community Health (CSMCH) was established in 1971 in order to shape, and to provide academic content, to the discipline of public health, making it relevant to the situation in India

Eligibility for admission:

Master’s Degree holders (with adequate research experience and publications) and M.Phil.

Degree holders are eligible for admission, provided they have scored a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grades [UGC Guidelines].

Admission is based on a JNUEE national level entrance examination followed by an interview.

The Centre may prescribe courses to the candidate admitted under the Ph.D. programme. Ph.D. scholars need to obtain a minimum of 55% of marks or its equivalent grade in the UGC 7-point scale in the course work in order to be eligible to continue in the programme and submit the dissertation/thesis
