JMU has guaranteed admission agreements with several Virginia community colleges and one junior college.

Admission to JMU is guaranteed to a student, who completes an associate degree,
Has a cumulative GPA of 3.00, meets additional admission requirements as outlined in the individual agreements.
Guaranteed admission required to fulfill or complete additional admission

Students participating in a JMU Guaranteed Admission Agreement (GAA) program are required to submit
(1) an application for admission to JMU

(2) a completed Letter of Intent to their community college counselor.

Final high school transcript or copy of GED certificate ( if you have received a Bachelor’s degree than it is not required)
Signed Letter of Intent (if you are a Virginia community college student applying under the Guaranteed Admissions Agreement)


Dates and Deadlines
Early Action (non-binding)

November 1 - Application deadline for all pieces (application, transcripts, SAT/ACT scores etc.)

Mid-January - Admission decisions posted online in the Applicant Center of My Madison

May 1 - Intent to enroll deposit deadline
