Re: JEE Main Vs BITSAT
BITSAT is more of a speed test just like the JEE Mains examination. The level of BITSAT is a level below the JEE Mains examination and most of the paper consists of 12th topics. Around 65-70 percent of the questions asked are from class 12th syllabus. BITSAT is based on overall knowledge of a student apart from only PCM. It tests your English along with your logical application as well. It offers low complexity in PCM section with more number of questions, you only require basic knowledge in PCM JEE Main, on the other hand, is solely based on PCM and contains less number of questions so it is obvious that each question will now require more analysis. JEE Main demands for deep understanding in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics BITSAT exam pattern: Subject Number of Questions Part I Physics 40 Part II Chemistry 40 Part III (a) English Proficiency 15 (b) Logical Reasoning 10 Part IV Mathematics / Biology 45 Total: 150 JEE-Main Exam/Paper Pattern: JEE-Main 2014 had two papers. Paper 1 for aspirants of engineering courses (you can opt for an Online Test OR Offline Test) Paper 2 for aspirants to the Architecture/Planning courses (available only as Pen & Paper Based Test) Duration of the examination was 3 hours. JEE Main Exam Pattern for Paper 1 1. Online – Computer Based Test (CBT): The CBT covered questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with equal weightage to all subjects. The JEE Main Question Paper consisted of three parts with equal weightage to all the three subjects The candidates had to opt for the correct response for each question out of four responses given. Each question was allotted 4 marks. There was negative marking in the examination. One wrong answer deducted ¼ of the total marks. 2. Offline – Pen & Paper Based (Paper 1): The total duration of the examination was 3 hours. There were 30 questions from each subject namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The JEE Main Question Paper was a multiple choice question paper with one correct answer from a choice of four answers for each question. All subjects carried equal weightage with each question carrying 4 marks for a correct answer. Every wrong answer resulted in deduction of one mark due to negative marking of ¼ (one fourth) of the total marks. BITSAT exam dates: BITSAT online tests May 14-May 28, 2016 BITSAT online test for selected candidates May 26, 2016 Candidates to apply for admission with 12th class marks & preferences to degree programmes From May 20 to June 30, 2016 Admit list & wait list announcement July 1, 2016 JEE Main Exam schedule: JEE MAIN 2016 is scheduled to be held on 03/04/2016 - Paper and pen mode - 9.30 am to 12.30 pm 09/04 to 10/04/ 2016 - Online mode 1st shift - 9.30 am to 12.30 pm 2nd shift - 14.00 pm to 17.00 pm |
