No, JKSBOSE (Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education) does not offer Junior Basic Training (J.B.T) Program.


The Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education was established through legislation under the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education Act, 1975. Its vision is to enable students throughout Jammu and Kashmir State to realize their full potential.

Functions of BOSE

• It conduct public examinations of secondary and higher secondary Classes

• It prepare and publish results of examinations

• It grant diplomas and certificates

• It prescribe the courses of instruction, scheme of studies, prepare syllabi, curriculum and textbooks for the School Education as per National Policy on Education

• It print and supply textbooks to the School Education Department

• It provide education through State Open School under open distance learning (ODL) mode for those who have missed formal schooling

• It award medals and prizes to meritorious students in public examinations

• It grant affiliation to private (secondary and higher secondary) schools

• It implements National Sponsored Schemes like Adolescence Education Programme, NTSE/NMMS, Scholarships, National Achievement Survey, etc.

Department of Education of University of Jammu was established in 1973. Initially, it had started M.Ed. class of one year with an intake capacity of 25 students. Later on another class of M.A. Education of two-years was started in 1978 with an intake capacity of 50 students.


University of Jammu does not offer Junior Basic Training (JBT) Program. Programmes/Courses offered by Department of Education of University of Jammu:-
