Here is the syllabus of the certificate
Paper I – History and Philosophy of Jainism Section – I

1. Jainism in its historical context – Three ancient Indian Religion, then languages and sources, their general features.

2. The Jaina Tirthankaras and scriptures.

3. Major Jaina sects – Digambara Shelambara, Sthanakawasi, Tarapanthi.

4. Cosmology – Structure of the Universe and cycle of time.

5. Background Information about other major world religions.

Section – II

6. Five types of knowledge.

7. Six dravyas.

8. Karma – bondage and liberation – Navartattvas

9. Jaina ethics; Yoga and Meditation

10. Anekantavada, Nayavada, Syadvada – Saptabhangi

Admission criteria
A Candidate for being eligible for admission to the course for the Certificate in Jainology must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Std. XII) of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education, Pune or an examination recognized by this University as equivalent thereto.
