The IU School of Medicine and IU Kelley School of Business have partnered to develop an MD/MBA combined degree program.
It is designed for highly qualified students who desire to complement standard medical training with a greater understanding of economics, finance, marketing and management of the health care system.
Students spend the three years of full-time study in the School of Medicine and then begin integrating their course work with the IU Kelley School of Business course work in the fourth year.
The degrees are conferred simultaneously when all requirements for graduation for the joint degree student have been met in each professional program.

Curriculum
In Indianapolis, the IU Kelley School of Business offers MBA course work through the part-time MBA Program.
The MBA program is scheduled in modules, which meet two (2) evenings per week from 5:45 PM - 8:25 PM for fifteen (15) weeks for the fall and spring semesters and for ten (10) weeks during the summer session.
Additionally, some modules begin with a required intensive Saturday seminar.
Students wishing to pursue leadership roles as part of their careers in medicine may also choose to participate in the MD/MBA Physician-Leaders Forum.

Prerequisites include one course in financial accounting and one in statistics within the last 5 years with a B- or better.
Online courses fulfilling these prerequisite requirements are taught through IU Kelley School of Business in fall and summer semesters.
