Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of India, raised on 24 October 1962, under the CRPF Act, in the wake of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. The ITBP was intended for deployment along India's border with Chinese-occupied Tibet.

Basic Training Center
The Basic Training Centre of ITB Police was established at Karera, Shivpuri (MP) in 1962. The Centre was shifted to Distt. Kullu (HP) in 1977, and to its present location, Bhanu, in District Panchkula (Haryana) in the month of June 1991.
