Re: ISRO Achievements
The Indian Space Research Organisation, is the space agency of the Government of Republic of India headquartered in the city of Bengaluru. Founded in the Year 1969 Centres : Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram. Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), Thiruvananthapuram. Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR), Sriharikota. ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri. ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC), Bangalore. Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad. National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad. ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU), Thiruvananthapuram. Development and Educational Communication Unit (DECU), Ahmedabad. Master Control Facility (MCF), Hassan, Karnataka. Achievements One of most important achievements of ISRO in this field was the discovery of three species of bacteria in the upper stratosphere at an altitude of between 20–40 km. The bacteria, highly resistant to ultra-violet radiation, are not found elsewhere on Earth, leading to speculation on whether they are extraterrestrial in origin. the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) set a record by launching 20 satellites from a single rocket. India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) took flight from the ISRO launch pad at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh earlier today. ISRO broke its own record by launching 20 satellites in one mission. The PSLV carried a weight of 1,288 kilograms, with India’s Cartosat-2 series satellite (725.5 kg) taking up most it. The Cartosat satellite aims at charting urban, rural, coastal land use, and water distribution among others. |
