Re: ISI Bangalore Interview Questions
Here I am providing the list of few questions interview questions asks in Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore for B.Stat admission which you are looking for . You are given two parabolas such that their directrices coincide. Assume them being on the same side of the directrix; the parabolas intersect at some point. Now suppose that the common directrix is moved away from the parabolas keeping their foci fixed. As a result, the parabolas are supposed to grow in size. Find the locus of the point of intersection of the parabolas. Hint: Try using the definition of a parabola. Note that the intersection point always remains at an equal distance from the foci. [Ans: perpendicular bisector of the line joining their foci] Is (30!)/ (10! * 10! * 10!) Necessarily an integer? [Ans: Yes, it can be thought as a coefficient of something or as a permutation of something. Think about it.] Is the function cos(x) + cos (√2x) periodic? [Ans: No. Does the function repeat its value at f(0).] Consider the function f(A,B) = A’.B. Can we realize all logic gate operations using this function? You have logic 0 and logic 1 present with you. [Ans: Yes. Try generating OR, AND, NOT] Given a binary tree, how do you determine if it is height balanced? Given a chessboard, find the number of rectangles you can make. [Ans: 9C2 * 9C2] There were questions asked from properties of definite integrals and nature of roots of an n-degree polynomial. |
