Here I am giving you information about Physical Requirements to apply for Indian Police Service examination organized by union public service commission. Physical requirement Height – Male 165 cm & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. Minimum height requirements are: For males : 165 cm [160 cm for Pahari males and ST] For females : 150 cm [145 cm for Pahari females and ST] Vision Requirement for IPS Parameters Better eye (corrected vision) Worse eye Distant vision 6/6 or 6/9 6/12 or 6/9 Near vision J1 J2 Corrections permitted spectacles Color vision requirements High grade Ear- Good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels. Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking. Educational Qualification: You must have a degree from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification from a well recognized university . Age limit : -You must have attained the age of 21 years on 1st August of the year of examination and must not have attained 30 years of age on that date. -The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Number of attempts 4 times for general and 7 times for OBC and infinity for Sc/St Nationality : 1. For IPS, the candidate must be a citizen of India. a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, Exam pattern : IPS Exam consists of total 9 papers based on different topics which are mentioned below: Paper I: Language Exam Paper II: General English Paper III: Essay Paper IV and V: General Studies Paper VI, VII, VIII and IX: Optional Subjects General English Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills; Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. — Class X level) English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level) Essay Candidates will have to write two Essays. One topic will relate to Indian Society/politics/ Economy/Development, Growth and relevant phases. The other topic will relate to security and related stuffs. |

High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. Blood pressure (High) - Age 23 - 123, age 24 - 124, age 25 -122, age 28 - 124, age 30 -125, age 32 - 126, age 34 - 127. Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test. Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels. Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking. IPS Exam Pattern : Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted all India Combined Competitive Examination for the Civil Services including IPS officer , this exam comprises of two successive stages: Preliminary Examination: It is of objective type, which is a qualifying examination. Main Examination: It consists of written examination and interview. The Preliminary Examination is held in May/June and the Main Examination in October/November. You must begin preparations of the main exam along with preliminary exam. It is because there is little time for the Main exam if one waits for the results of the Preliminaries.
